Kay Fontana, Ed.D., is a Spiritual Grief and Sound Healing Practitioner and founder of Healing Our Grieving Hearts. She is a heart-centered guide for women navigating caregiving, profound life transitions, and the loss of a spouse or soulmate.
Kay’s calling emerged through her own lived experience. For several years, she cared for her beloved husband, Dave, through numerous health challenges before sitting beside him during his final week on life support. That sacred and life-changing chapter became the foundation of her life’s work: supporting women as they move through caregiving, grief, healing, and the journey of rediscovering themselves.
Her lifelong commitment to spiritual growth has inspired a path of continual learning and service. She earned a Doctor of Education degree with a dissertation titled Mindfulness and Compassion: A Phenomenological Study of Hospice Dementia Care Volunteers and later became a certified Sound and Vibration Therapies Practitioner. Drawing from both professional training and personal experience, Kay integrates spiritual guidance, sound and vibration therapies, mindfulness, and compassionate coaching into her work.
Through her reflective guides, group programs, and one-on-one support, Kay helps women find hope, purpose, and renewed meaning after loss. Her signature programs, The Sacred Companioning Path, Purposeful Living After Loss, and Navigating New Horizons: The Compass Rose Framework, offer gentle guidance for women as they move beyond surviving grief and begin creating a life that feels meaningful, authentic, and deeply their own.
At the heart of Kay’s work is a simple intention: to create soft, sacred spaces where women feel seen, supported, and empowered to heal. She believes that while grief forever changes us, it can also become a pathway to deeper love, greater purpose, and a more wholehearted way of living.
Grief does not move in straight lines. It moves in waves, seasons, and quiet returns. That is why all of her offerings are rooted in what she calls The Sacred Spiral of Transition & Renewal (below) — a compassionate, cyclical approach to grief that honors where you are without rushing where you are going.
Some women arrive needing comfort and grounding. Others arrive seeking meaning, clarity, or a renewed sense of purpose. Still others are ready for deep transformation, embodiment, or sacred ritual. There is no right place to begin.
Through free reflections, guided practices, companioning programs, sound healing, creative expression, and immersive experiences, she offers support that meets you gently and unfolds as you are ready.
You are not meant to “get over” grief. You are meant to be accompanied as you learn how to live again — in a way that honors love, memory, and the woman you are becoming.
